Hello. I am A.C.3.
I am a musician, audio programmer, game dev, and giant nerd. Welcome to my blog!
I'm in my early 20s, and I live in the pacific northwest. I grew up playing Nintendo games and making art and music. Since then the art has fallen away a bit, and music has become my primary creative outlet. Growing up I spent my free time playing Nintendo games, and this had a profound effect on pretty much every aspect of my life.
I am, first and foremost, a musician. It's possible that the first place you found me was my youtube channel, where I used to upload video game music covers. It's also possible that you found me through my debut album from the end of 2022 (albeit unlikely. But that's okay!). To be honest, I'm still trying to find my sound. But I love making music, and I don't think I'll ever stop.
For a while (most of high school and some of college), I almost exclusively listened to video game music (mostly Nintendo music, but lots of indies too), and this probably comes through in the music I've made. Since then though, I've dove really deep into music adjacent to the music I loved then (like digital fusion), as well as mostly music from and inspired by black american music--particularly jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, and R&B. Not just modern stuff either; some of my favorite artists these days are Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind & Fire. Maybe I'll make another post soon getting into some of the specifics.
I am also a software developer. I first tried programming a little bit in high school, but I didn't really kick things into gear until college. Now I'm a full-time audio programmer, making tools for composers and sound designers to use on their games. I would like to make my own games someday, but right now I'm happy with what I'm doing. It also funds my (expensive) music hobby, and it keeps my music away from the stresses of my full-time job.
There's a lot more that I could get into, but you probably get the idea now. If you think I might have some interesting things to say, you can subscribe to the RSS feed, or just check in every now an again. Thanks for reading!
